A coat of many colors and so much more! Joseph remained faithful to God in good times and bad — when his brothers were mean and when his dad treated him special; when he was a slave and when he was in charge; when he was in prison and when he was 2nd to Pharaoh. Joseph was quick to forgive, faithfully believed in God, and worked diligently.

Joseph Serves — Genesis 37, 38-47
This slide show tells the story of Joseph in a nutshell. Spice it up by giving the kids bread or crackers in a colorful napkin to remind them of Joseph’s robe and how he served others. Look for the many ways grain is mentioned in the story. Who did Joseph serve? We can serve our family, church, and everyone around us.

Joseph’s Coat of Many Colors and Trouble with Brothers — Genesis 37
This PowerPoint presentation gives you pictures, crafts, and songs to tell the story found in Genesis 37 about Joseph’s special coat of many colors, his dreams and the trouble they caused. His jealous brothers threw Joseph into a pit and then sold him to some Ishmaelite Midianites to be taken to Egypt and sold into slavery. How sad! But God had given him the dreams for a reason. They were tokens of hope. When life gives us lemons, God can make lemonade. He can turn bad news into good.
Joseph Ups and Downs with Potiphar and Prison — Genesis 39 & 40
Potiphar, Captain of the Guard, bought Joseph in Egypt. Because of his success, Potiphar promited him. But then Potiphar’s wife falsely accused him and Joseph ended up in prison. One day the Pharaoh’s cup bearer and baker, who had been thrown in prison, had dreams. Joseph, with God’s insight, accurately told them the meaning of the dreams. Through his many trials, Joseph continued to be faithful. He must have had an attitude of gratitude. In this presentation we use Joseph as an example of 2 Thessalonians 5:18. Be Thankful in all circumstances. Sometimes what feels like a really tough time, is God training us for something really important. When we look for things to be thankful for we are giving ourselves the gift of a positive attitude. Then we are better able to share God’s love and be faithful to Him. The craft is an abacus, which we use to count our many blessings.
From Prison to Palace — Genesis 41
The wise man can’t interpret Pharaoh’s dreams of fat & skinny cows and fat & skinny wheat, but God enables Joseph to do so. Joseph also gives a great plan on how to survive the 7 years of famine after the 7 years of plenty. Pharaoh is delighted with Joseph and his plan and promotes him on the spot. We did this presentation at Thanksgiving time. So one of the activities is to make a pyramid of things we are thankful for (written on Duplos). There also is an I Spy game and the cornbread in a jar activity pictured above. You’ll probably have to pick just a couple of these activities due to time.
Famine, Family and Forgiveness – Genesis 42-45
This presentation covers the many conversations Joseph had with his brothers as he tested them to see if they had changed from his boyhood days. They proved they had! Joseph gave them grain and proved that he had forgiven them. Forgiving others give peace and health.

This presentation includes a video covering Joseph’s brothers coming to Egypt, the tests, and Joseph revealing that he indeed was Joseph. The main theme is forgiveness. Fun activities include making an Egyptian collar, doing a maze, taking part in the conversations, and wrapping up a volunteer as a mummy.
