John Baptizes Jesus

Matthew3, Mark 1, Luke 3

John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus by telling others to get ready for the Messiah. The people repented and John baptized them. What does repent mean? What is baptism? These are the concepts we explore with this story. The Bible tells us that Jesus washes us and we will be as white as snow. One activity is to make snowflakes.

John the Baptist — Repent

Luke 3

Get ready for Jesus to come. Repent. Jesus washes our sins away. The kids will have an opportunity to see this in action as they do the object lesson. They will write sins with water soluble ink on a rock and good deeds with crayon. When washed in water the ink will disappear and the crayon will stay. For the craft they will make a texture picture of John the Baptist.
