God asked Jonah to go to a big wicked city and tell them destruction was coming because of their wickedness. Would you go? Jonah didn’t want to. He ran away. Three nights in a whale taught him a lesson of God’s saving grace. But did he really learn that lesson? God had to teach him again that each and every person even a whole city of people who never knew Him before are important to Him.

Jonah Goes to Nineveh — Jonah 3-4

God continues to answer prayer and draw people to Himself. He answered the sailors prayer and drew them to worship Him. Jonah too was reminded that it is God who saves. The people of Nineveh also repented in prayer, God saved them and drew them to Himself. God seeks to save each and every one of us. The object lesson uses static electricity to illustrate this point. The kids can use magnets, too. Through-out the story there are activities to let the kids participate in the story.
