It was prophesied that the people of Judah would be exiles in Babylon for 70 years. That is what happened. Near the end of Daniel’s life and just before Esther was crowned queen, Cyrus decreed that the temple in Jerusalem be rebuilt. Xerxes and Artaxerxes were not supporters, but King Darius confirmed King Cyrus’ decree and supported the completion of the temple. In fact, he made sure that offerings and prayers were offered on his behalf also.
God’s timing is perfect. Let us worship our LORD, the Most High God. Let us work together to accomplish His purposes and glorify His name.
Start Rebuilding Temple; Worship God at Fall Feasts — Ezra

In this presentation, the children are encouraged to reenact the story by starting to build a temple with building blocks or Duplos, making a trumpet and ‘celebrating’ the festival of trumpets, and ‘celebrating’ the Feast of Tabernacles by making a blanket fort and having snack. Through-out they will learn various ways that we worship God.
The Temple at Jerusalem is Rebuilt — Remember God’s Word — Ezra

The rebuilding project was fraught with taunting and discouragement. 10 years past. Prophets Haggai and Zephaniah encouraged the people to start building again. The old documents from King Cyrus were found. Again they received backing from the king. We are reminded that our faith is founded on God’s provisions and work in the past as we look forward to the task at hand and the future. The children continue building the temple in this presentation and then ‘celebrate’ Passover for snack. With the Israelites, we reflect on how God has led in the past, read His commands, and Praise Him for His faithfulness.
Jerusalem’s Walls are Rebuilt: Work Together — Nehemiah 1-5

Nehemiah was a great motivator. Thanks to the LORD and answered prayer, the king agreed to let Nehemiah, his cup bearer, to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the wall. The king gave them his full support. Everyone in Jerusalem worked together with a small group to build a portion of the wall. Due to their great cooperation and hard work, they were able to complete the wall in 52 days! This despite others taunting them and attacking them. They protected each other and just kept working! Activities include building a wall together and team activities.
