Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man. He learned to read, help with chores, be responsible, help Joseph as a carpenter, and most importantly, he learned to love and obey God with all of His heart. It was evident at the temple when Jesus was 12, how well he had learned these lessons. People were amazed! We don’t know too much about Jesus’ boyhood, but we explore a couple lessons in this section.
Boy Jesus Grows in Wisdom, Stature, and in Favor with God and Man — Luke 2:39, 51,52

In this presentation we explore what it means to grow in wisdom by reading the scriptures and playing a game. The craft shown above helps us learn what it means to grow in stature. Attach a measuring tape to a colorable set of pages. We also talk about growing in favor with God and man. We practice helping ‘mommy Mary’ cook by making biscuits for snack and helping ‘dad Joseph’ build a box with popsicle sticks. There are a lot of fun activities in this one.
Boy Jesus at the Temple — Luke 2:41-52

This lesson is full of opportunities to search for this and that as we learn about the Passover Celebration and the lesson story of Jesus at the temple. Using candles, the light of truth, search for yeast and bread crumbs in the Bedika Chametz activity. Search for the hidden Matzah bread representing Jesus who came to earth to die and take away our sins. Search for Jesus and your friends. Find that it is Jesus who saves us and promises us eternal life. Drink the cups of the Passover. Finish by entering Joseph’s carpenter shop, pound some nails (have them already mostly pounded in), and drill 2 holes into the string art board to hang it after you finish the string art of a snow flake. Jesus purifies us – we are whiter than snow.
